Mayor Littleton: State of the Town Virtual Address

On Thursday, October 29, 2020, at 6:00pm, Mayor Bridge Littleton will present the Annual “State of the Town” address to the Middleburg community. This year’s address will be offered virtually, via the Town website (view-only streaming) and UberConference (ability to call in by phone or interact via your computer).

Reminder: Town Refuse and Recycling

Reminder: Town Refuse and Recycling

Refuse and recyclables are collected on Wednesdays between the hours of 6 AM and 5 PM. Collections can go throughout the day depending upon volume, inclement weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Trash and recycling are collected separately; residents and businesses should expect a gap in time in between the two collections. The Town’s contractor, American Disposal, is typically here collecting refuse very early, while their recycling collection usually begins later in the morning and may continue into the afternoon. Please still be sure to have all of your items out no later than 6 AM.

If you have any questions or have an issue with your scheduled pickup, please contact the Town Office at (540) 687-5152 or by email.

Halloween Guidance: Safe Tips for All

Halloween Guidance: Safety for All

Halloween and other fall festivities are going to look and feel quite a bit different than in years past due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we can still find ways to celebrate, have fun and stay safe. The Loudoun County Health Department does not recommend door-to-door trick-or-treating this year because that is considered high risk for COVID-19 transmission for both the trick-or-treater and for the person handing out candy. The Health Department urges anyone who chooses to participate in any Halloween activities this year to follow these safety guidelines:
  • Stay home and away from others if you are sick.
  • Maintain at least six feet of distance between yourself and others who do not live in your household at all times.
  • Wash your hands before going trick-or-treating or handing out candy.
  • Wear a cloth face covering. Halloween costume masks may not provide adequate protection, so cloth face coverings should be worn under costume masks.
  • Hand out candy from a distance.
