2020 Is a Census Year–Here are the Top 5 Things to Know Every ten years, the Constitution requires a count of everyone in our nation. A more accurate count means more funding, resources, and representation for all communities in Loudoun County.
Here are the Top 5 things to know about the Census:
1. The Census begins in March with a letter in the mail. The survey is available online, by phone or by paper form. Census workers will follow up in person in May to homes that do not respond.
2. The Census is easy–it is available in 13 languages online and only takes 10 minutes to complete.
3. The Census is safe–federal law prohibits your responses from being shared with anyone or any agency outside of the Census bureau. The Census does not impact your immigration status or government benefits.
4. Everyone Counts–From one day to over 100 years old, any age, immigration status, ethnicity, and relation that lives in your home counts on your Census form.
5. The Census does NOT ask for your Social Security Number, financial information, email address, or political party.

The Town has experienced instances where unauthorized contractors have connected to the Town’s water supply at fire hydrants in Town, causing a disturbance in the Town’s water system. Only the Town’s utility operator – Inboden Environmental Services (IES) – public safety officials, or contractors authorized by IES may use a fire hydrant. In addition, there are specific hydrants that should be used by outside contractors in order to minimize disturbances or damage to our system.
