Wellhead Protection Advisory Committee

Town of Middleburg Water System of the Year April 2017


The Wellhead Protection Advisory Committee is responsible for:

  • Addressing source water protection issues
  • Assisting in the implementation of the plan
  • Developing and recommending a wellhead protection plan to the Town Council


The Committee meets at 6:00 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of January, April, July and October in the Town Office.  View agendas here.

Wellhead Protection Advisory Committee Initiates / Projects Completed to Date

  • Development and distribution of Leaking Oil Tank Brochure
  • Development and distribution of Source Water Protection Brochure through the use of State grant
  • Erection of Drinking Water Protection Zone signs at Town entrances
  • Fencing of all Town wells through the use of State grants
  • Formal closure/abandonment of unused wells in town (Town Well 1 closed; remaining well project underway)
  • Initiation of Drug Take-Back Program
  • Storm Water Medallion Program
